Client Events

Multiple times through the year we hold Client Events to bring educational value, awareness of resources in the community or show our appreciation. Active clients receive priority registration, but we may open some events to guests and the public if space allows. Details and registration will be updated on this page as they are scheduled.

Events are held at our office building SUPPLY, 280 S Oak Street, Manheim PA 17545 unless otherwise noted.

The Gift of Conversation- Understanding the Need for Advance Care Planning

This will be a 2-part series:


April 30 from 10am-Noon


May 28 from 10am-Noon


It is highly recommended to attend both sessions as different material will be presented in each.


If you are unable to make one of the sessions, we will have a virtual option available.

90% of Americans say that it’s important to talk about their end-of-life wishes and want to learn about their loved ones' wishes as well. Yet fewer than 30% have had those conversations. 

What would happen if you were in a car accident or had a fall that put you in the hospital in a coma? Who would make decisions? What should they decide? 

Attend the presentations organized by Next Steps Insurance to learn more about how to start and have these conversations. We’ll discuss advance care planning at any age, what documents are needed and when, what makes them legal, who you should trust the most to be your legal spokesperson for healthcare decisions when you cannot speak for yourself.
 

Many participants who have had documents already have left these sessions saying, “Wow, I didn’t know I needed to do that!!” These are interactive sessions with local expert Roberta Geidner from the Aging Inspired Advance Care Planning Coalition. 
 

All participants attending in person will receive an Aging-Inspired Advance Care Planning resource packet with a free Five Wishes advance directives booklet


Roberta Geidner is currently the CEO of RGA Consulting Services, helping non-profits to develop strategic plans, excellence in leadership, management enhancement, human resources management and fundraising capabilities. She most recently worked for WellSpan Health where she was the Horizon Advance Care Planning initiative manager, learning comprehensive skills in guiding individuals and their families in advance care planning conversations and advance directive completion. As the leader of the Horizon Planning initiative at WellSpan Health, Roberta led a team of advance care planning facilitators and built an integrated system of process design, training and implementation of policies, procedures and activities at the service delivery level that was nationally recognized as a Program of Excellence. After leaving WellSpan Health, Roberta was asked to consult with Five Wishes, teaching medical professionals how to facilitate conversations with patients, clients and loved ones on end-of-life care planning, advance care planning and the creation of advance directives. Roberta Geidner lives in Felton, PA with her partner, Dick and her beloved four-legged children, Daisy and Sunshine.
 

Directions

Client Events will be held at an event venue called SUPPLY, 280 South Oak Street, Manheim PA 17545. You will see a large brick building with the word SUPPLY on the end of the building. Drive around to the large parking lot in the back of the building and enter the main door beside the outside painted mural.
